Word From The World Of Readers!

Assassination Attempt:

A fast, gritty, and smart thriller that keeps you hooked from the Bowery to the White House.
‘Assassination Attempt!: Alone Wolfe’ really caught me off guard. I thought I was in for a straightforward action thriller, but it’s got a lot more going on under the surface. The main character, Nick Wolfe, is a classic hard-boiled private eye – sharp-tongued, flawed, and completely relentless. He’s the kind of character you end up rooting for even when he’s being a bit too clever for his own good.
The story kicks off with a murder in New York’s Bowery and quickly snowballs into something much bigger – secret agencies, political games, and a sense that the whole country’s teetering on the edge. It’s written in first-person, so you’re right in Wolfe’s head, feeling every punch and every bad decision. The writing’s fast, gritty and full of great lines that feel straight out of a noir film.
If you’re into ‘Lee Child’, ‘Vince Flynn’ or anything with a ‘Tom Clancy’-style conspiracy twist, you’ll be at home here. But it’s also got its own flavour – darker, funnier, more cynical in the best way.
A Smart, Funny Thriller That Never Lets Up
Assassination Attempt!: Alone Wolfe by Robert Workman is the kind of fast paced thriller that grabs you from the opening chapter and refuses to slow down. This is a high tension, page turning story that blends espionage, mystery, and action with an unexpected and very welcome sense of humor.
Nick Wolfe is a terrific lead. He is tough, intelligent, and sharp with his wit, especially when the pressure is on. As a private investigator pulled into a deeply personal murder case that collides with a potential presidential assassination, Wolfe feels like a classic hard boiled hero updated for the modern era. The stakes escalate quickly, moving from the gritty streets of New York City to the highest levels of power, and the momentum never drops.
One of the real pleasures of this book is the supporting cast. The characters feel lived in and believable, especially the women, who are written with strength, intelligence, and agency. They are not background figures but essential to the emotional and narrative weight of the story.
Workman also knows how to balance intensity with levity. Just when the tension feels unbearable, a sharp line or unexpected moment of humor cuts through, giving the reader room to breathe before the next hit lands. The plotting is tight, the clues are clean, and every scene pushes the story forward.
This is an exciting, confident thriller that delivers suspense, character, and genuine fun. Highly recommended for fans of mystery, espionage, and smart action driven storytelling.

Immigration Invasion

Adventurous and thrilling book!
Fun, fun, book to read. When you start with a wedding at the White House you don't think you'll end up at the Alamo! This book sure pounds home the point that the immigration crisis raging the last 4 years has taken its toll on Texas.
Nick and Electra are impressive characters. If you love books that have heroes, this story is a great one. Please realize this story represents actual current happenings and challenges, alongside fictional resolutions. It's a little crazy and dizzying but really entertaining to be a part of.
Favorite character is General Willoughby. Reading the actual dialect of the British officer is very cool. It sure makes you slow down and appreciate the scene. Have fun reading this book.

What Did I Just Read? A Wild Ride
This book left me scratching my head in the best way. Is it satire? Is it serious? Is it ripped-from-the-headlines fiction? Honestly, I still have no idea. What I do know is that it’s a wild ride from start to finish.
One minute you’re at a White House wedding, the next you’re at the Alamo, with larger-than-life characters charging through the chaos. It’s dizzying, over-the-top, and completely different from anything I’ve picked up before. If you’re looking for something unexpected that blurs the line between reality and fiction, this might be it.

Great thriller
Nick Wolfe and his bride's perfect wedding turns into a nightmare when her godfather's murder reveals a massive conspiracy. Together with a small band of patriots, including bikers and historical reenactors, they must make their final stand at the Alamo Village against overwhelming odds. The political messaging can feel a bit heavy-handed at times, but the author's cinematic writing style made me feel like I was watching a blockbuster movie unfold on the page.
An intense and controversial political thriller
This story is a whirlwind of action and conspiracies that keeps up the pace throughout. The cinematic style and unexpected twists grabbed me, although the political message is quite direct and may not be for everyone. The characters are interesting, and the mix of fact and fiction creates an immersive experience. Definitely a provocative read that doesn't leave you indifferent.

Maximum Prejudice

A wild ride
Absolutely loved this book. The main character reminded me of Mike Hammer and Dirty Harry with a little bit of Cary Grant’s wit, a guy who always gets the job done, one way or another. The story had me from page one and just when l’d get to a stopping point, there’d be another twist and I’d be sucked in once more. I’m really hoping for a sequel as the latter part of the book felt like it could definitely be expanded into one. Fingers crossed…
Twists and turns keep you on the edge of your seat!!
Every time I thought I had everything figured out, WHAM!, I did not. The author keeps you on the edge of your seat in this fun adventure! Well worth the read.
Great!
Was captivated from the beginning, Nick is a bad guy, a charmer and a hero. Couldn't put it down. Robert knows how to keep you in suspense and tug at your heart strings all at the same time. Nick Wolfe is the kind of guy you want to be like. Great reading.
